The College of Education sponsors research centers and clinics dedicated to research, specialized scholarly activity, education, and/or public service in furtherance of interdisciplinary study, outreach, and acquisition of extramural funding.

Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders

The mission of UNLV’s Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders (UNLV CASD) is to conduct community-focused research and educational training on individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), their families, and community service providers in Southern Nevada. The goal of UNLV CASD is to be a nationally recognized leader in the field of ASD through high quality research and training.

UNLV's Center for Mathematics, Science, and Engineering Education (CMSEE) is a collaborative venture between the Colleges of Sciences, Education, and Engineering to strengthen the collaborative grantsmanship activities in STEM Education at the institution.

Center for Research, Evaluation, and Assessment

The Center for Research, Evaluation and Assessment (CREA) is dedicated to improving evidence-based decision making in a variety of sectors through the production of high quality design, implementation and interpretation of research-based evaluation and assessment.

CREA works with clients in the community, including municipalities, nonprofits, and other organizations, to address their research, evaluation, and assessment needs.

Gayle A. Zeiter Literacy Development Center

The Gayle A. Zeiter Center serves the community by providing: professional development opportunities through workshops, conferences, and literacy education courses to teachers and university students; family engagement opportunities in developing children’s joy of reading and writing; one-on-one literacy tutoring services to K-8 students within Clark County School District; and a venue for conducting scholarly activity that improves children’s literacy and professionals’ literacy education.

Lynn Bennett Early Childhood Education Center

The UNLV/CSUN Preschool is housed in the Lynn Bennett Early Childhood Education Center on the UNLV Campus. The Preschool’s mission is to provide a model inclusive early childhood program that serves children (6 weeks to 5 years of age) of students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding campus community.

Content Area and Language Learning Research Lab

The CALL research team, based in the Department of Early Childhood, Multilingual and Special Education, is an interdisciplinary collaborative group comprised of undergraduate and graduate students and faculty. We are committed to studying the contiguous development of language, literacy, and content areas such as mathematics, science, social studies, among these populations from preschool to post-secondary schooling.

Interaction & Media Sciences Lab

The UNLV Interaction & Media Sciences Lab is an interdisciplinary lab that specializes in state-of-the-art-research into human-computer-interaction, video games, game-based models, virtual reality, and simulations. We focus our research on understanding technology from the human perspective, specifically in the context of human learning, behavior, and socio-emotional competencies.

The Motivational Systems Lab is housed in the College of Education on the UNLV campus.

Motivational Systems Lab

Initially a research group known as the Motivation and Engagement Interest Group (MEIG), The Motivational Systems Lab has subsequently evolved into a separate entity with a mission to examine personal and contextual factors that influence student motivation and engagement in a variety educational settings.

The Partnership for Research, Assessment, Counseling, Therapy and Innovative Clinical Education — The PRACTICE — is a UNLV community mental health training clinic. The PRACTICE clinic serves as a teaching, training and research clinic for faculty and students in the Colleges of Education and Liberal Arts.
