Welcome to the School of Dental Medicine at UNLV!
All across the United States, dental schools are welcoming first year dental students for the upcoming fall semester. At the UNLV School of Dental Medicine we strive to inspire and uplift our incoming students even before they set foot in our classrooms and clinics.
On September 8, 2015, we welcomed 82 new members of the Class of 2019. Representative of our cultural diverse environment as a School, the Class of 2019 consists of 44 males and 36 females; 47 Nevada residents and 35 nonresidents; and has 47 underrepresented minorities.
UNLV first year dental students are joining a dental school that is progressing and moving forward. Our arriving students encounter the best we have to offer including recently updated clinics, brand-new dental chairs, up to date technology and bright new faculty from all across the country. Not only will new students have usage of these physical centers and learning facilities, they will also have access to newly increased scholarship dollars. The entering Class of 2019 received 11 four (4) year partial scholarships.
Currently, our incoming students are also benefiting from forward progress with the newly established School of Medicine. “UNLV is creating a world-class center for medical education, patient care, and research that prepares Nevada’s doctors with the most innovative and technologically advanced forms of medical training while serving the health care needs of a diverse and urban population through community partnerships.” As a community partner, the UNLV School of Dental Medicine will experience interdisciplinary education and research opportunities for both students and faculty.
We pride ourselves on our outstanding teaching excellence, resourceful professional development, rigorous scholarship, modern cutting edge research, a proactive student service orientation and numerous community partnerships.
Our main clinics are situated right here in the heart of the Las Vegas Medical District where we benefit from a diverse patient pool seeking quality oral health care from our students and faculty.
We are committed to providing a world-class oral health education while providing for the dental needs of Nevada residents.
This is what we do.
