Welcome to the UNLV School of Dental Medicine!
As dental schools welcome first-year dental students across the nation, we strive to inspire and uplift before our students set foot inside our classrooms and clinics.
On September 5, 2017, we welcomed 81 students to the Class of 2021. Representative of our diversity and inclusiveness, our new class consists of 48 males and 33 females; 54 Nevada residents and 27 nonresidents; and includes 45 underrepresented minorities.
Our inbound students encounter the best we have to offer including recently updated clinics, brand-new dental chairs, up-to-date technology, and new faculty from across the country. In addition to the physical centers and learning facilities, these students will have access to newly increased scholarship dollars. Five scholars from the Class of 2021 earned $200,000 in annual scholarships for up to four years of dental school.
Our continuing students are benefitting from progress by the newly established School of Medicine. “UNLV is creating a world-class center for medical education, patient care, and research that prepares Nevada’s doctors with the most innovative and technologically advanced forms of medical training while serving the health care needs of a diverse and urban population through community partnerships.”
As an academic health center partner with other colleges, UNLV School of Dental Medicine will experience interdisciplinary education and research opportunities for both students and faculty.
Our first-year dental students are joining a dental school that is progressing and moving forward. We pride ourselves on our outstanding teaching excellence, resourceful professional development, rigorous scholarship, modern cutting edge research, a proactive student service orientation and numerous community partnerships.
Our main clinics are situated in the heart of the Las Vegas Medical District where we benefit from a diverse patient pool seeking quality oral health care from our students and faculty.
We are committed to providing a world-class oral health education while providing the dental needs of Nevada residents.
This is what we do.
