Resources for UNLV During COVID-19

The COVID-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented situation for our community both locally and globally. Below is a list of resources available to students from a variety of sources outside of the university.

Meals

Education, Technology, and Access

  • UNLV IT Resources for Students
    A compilation of resources available to students through the university.
  • UNLV Academic Success Center
    The center offers a variety of services for students including advising, coaching, and tutoring. All services will be online as of March 19.
  • University Libraries
    The University Libraries are providing a variety of virtual services during the Lied Library closure.

  • For residents needing home internet access on a budget, the Clark County School District has partnered with CenturyLink and Cox Communications to offer discounted rates for qualifying families.
  • Kanopy
    A free video streaming service offered to students through UNLV Libraries

Mental Health and Wellness

  • The PRACTICE: continuing to provide services to existing patients via phone and is not currently taking new clients.

    The PRACTICE also recommends the following online emotional and peer support services:

  • Student Counseling and Psychological Services is continuing mental health care via telephone, and in-person visits only for individuals who are in crisis. Services are offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 702-895-3627.

Entertainment and Fitness

  • Netflix Party
    Using a Google Chrome extension, Netflix Party makes it possible for friends to virtually watch movies and shows together.
  • Libby
    Check out e-books and audiobooks from your local library.
  • Virtual Museum Tours
    Visit museums around the world from the comfort of your own home.
  • Creative Bug
    A free online video service for craft tutorials available through the Clark County Libraries and Henderson Libraries districts.
  • LinkedIn Learning
    Formerly Lynda.com, LinkedIn Learning is free to all students, faculty and staff. Learn new and hone existing skills, from time management while working from home to success habits, to tips and tricks in Microsoft and Adobe software. Sign in via the LinkedIn Learning page.
