All UNLV campuses have adopted the following CDC guidelines for students, instructors, employees, and visitors.
COVID-19 Vaccine and Testing
UNLV urges everyone to get fully vaccinated and receive a booster shot when eligible – it is the best defense against COVID-19. Vaccines are safe, effective, widely available, and often free.

UNLV faculty and staff and their dependents who are 18 and older can make appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations at the Faculty and Staff Treatment (FAST) Center or by calling(702) 895-0630. Students can call 702-895-3370 to make an appointment at the Student Health Center.
The CDC also offers recommendations regarding COVID vaccinations and booster shots.
UNLV is not tracking positive COVID-19 cases at this time. Contact the Southern Nevada Health District for more information on COVID-19 cases in our area, or visit the NV Empower website for information and updates on local COVID-19 wastewater surveillance.
Masks or face coverings are not required on UNLV’s campuses, pursuant to Nevada law. There may be exceptions for clinical or healthcare settings, and we encourage employees, students, and visitors to follow posted guidelines regarding mask usage in these facilities.
Some members of the university community and visitors continue to choose to wear masks while on campus, and we ask that you continue to exhibit kindness, understanding, and tolerance toward one another – regardless of the personal decision to wear, or not wear, one. Complimentary face coverings are available at the information desk on the first floor of the Student Union.

Wash Your Hands
Frequently wash hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds. Use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol in absence of soap and water. Do not touch your face. Learn more about proper hand-washing techniques by viewing this video.
Pursuant to state and local government guidelines, UNLV does not require proof of COVID-19 vaccination for students, faculty, and staff. However, UNLV faculty, staff and students who work in clinical or hospital settings must follow the federal COVID-19 vaccine requirement for healthcare organizations. The federal government has not lifted this requirement. This means all new and current healthcare workers may be required to wear masks and must continue to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious waiver on file with Human Resources.
No one is permitted to ask another individual about their vaccination status. This includes supervisors and their employees. Do not make assumptions about an individual’s vaccination status based on whether or not they are wearing a face covering. Some may opt to wear a mask even though they are fully vaccinated.
