A travel cash advance assists individual travelers with out-of-pocket expenses for meals while in travel status.

A travel advance may be requested:

  • For meal per diem and incidental costs
  • At least two weeks before travel departure
  • By UNLV students, faculty, and staff in travel status on official UNLV business
    • Faculty and staff receive 100% of the meal per diem and incidental rate
    • Students receive up to 75% of the meal per diem and incidental rate
  • Volunteers and guests may not receive a travel advance
