We are based in the centre of Las Vegas, a unique and fast-growing city located in the Mojave Desert, Southern Nevada. We capitalize on this unique regional location to improve the human condition through teaching, research, and service.

Las Vegas and the American cities offer an ideal laboratory for our innovative research-based ideas how we might live, work, and play in the future. The structure of our seven theme-based labs is innovative and allows us to rethink and shape future cities that are liveable, connected, healthy, smart, resilient, and socially inclusive. Our vision is to be a leader through high-impact research and education that are relevant and vital to cities, their built environment, and inhabitants.
Las Vegas is a unique place. To live in the desert climate requires resourcefulness, appropriate architectural strategies, and an unwavering respect for the forces and life cycles of nature.
Students work in dedicated design studios on project-based learning that has social and environmental impact within American cities. Students are benefitting from the distinctive parts of the UNLV experience: small class sizes; research-led teaching, high employability through engagement with industry, professional skills development; and an ethical, values-driven curriculum.
The key challenges of contemporary society – such as sustainability, housing affordability, ageing-in-place and community building – underpin the studios within our three programs of architecture, interior architecture and design, and landscape architecture.
I invite you to join our exciting and diverse School of Architecture. Join us and be part of a flourishing creative community.
