The moment has come for us to announce SIX FOOT FILMS, a modified version of the 48-Hour Film Fest that we usually have in early November each year.
Each participant (or team) will have 6 days to write, shoot, and edit a film of no more than 6 minutes in length, including all credits.
All participants (cast and crew) must follow UNLV's guidelines for pandemic safety, which include continually wearing masks and maintaining a distance of 6 feet or more from one another during any aspect of production that takes place in person, for all cast and crew.
All participants should submit an official application by November 4th at 11:59 pm; there is no entry fee. Participants may apply as individuals or teams. Applicants will receive a link to a Zoom meeting that will launch the contest on November 5th at 7:00 pm.
At the launch, filmmakers (or teams) will be assigned elements that must be incorporated in their film from each of the following categories:
• a genre
• a character
• a household prop
• a line of dialogue
Links to finished films should be submitted 6 days later, by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, November 11th.
Films will be screened in FDH 109 on UNLV's main campus for a limited audience on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Films will also be available for remote viewing by all participants from November 12-15, 2020.
