Thanks to the Brenden Mann foundation UNLV FILM continues to develop cutting-edge to its Virtual Production Initiative. UNLV FILM is the first film school in the U.S. to own a cineDESK system that allows real-time sequencing and staging of a performance. This is a unique and impactful model of learning that will develop filmmakers uniquely, quickly and efficiently.
The Brenden Mann foundation grant allows UNLV FILM to collaborate with the Immersive Arts Space of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) to construct a cineDESK system at UNLV FILM. It trains hundreds of film majors by using novel methods of teaching using the touch screen table to sequence several scenes that were captured with UNLV performers and fed into the Unreal Engine software. The students can then design different locations, select character skins, and edit a visual sequence which can be discussed with the instructors and their student cohort.
