Paradise Media takes the helm of The Believer operations, content.
After a rigorous bid process, the UNLV College of Liberal Arts has accepted an offer from digital marketing company Paradise Media for the sale of The Believer literary magazine. The media firm assumed ownership and oversight of all content, including websites and digital assets, on April 1, 2022. The transfer process is expected to be finalized by mid-May. Paradise Media will determine any future publication of the magazine in any and all formats.
Following a strategic realignment of the Beverly Rogers, Carol C. Harter Black Mountain Institute (BMI) last fall, The Believer published issue No. 139, its final edition as a BMI publication, in March.
“We weighed all viable options for the future operation of The Believer. This was a sound business decision and the best step forward,” said Jennifer Keene, dean of the College of Liberal Arts.
Paradise Media publishes more than 10,000 pieces of content per year and operates more than 30 digital brands.
