The College of Education is pleased to announce that two new master’s level tracks were recently approved. The new programs support access, progression, and completion of new educators who have earned bachelor's degrees in other areas and are not yet licensed to teach.

The Master of Arts in Teaching Elementary Education (M.A.T.E.E.) and Master of Arts in Teaching Secondary Education (M.A.T.S.E.) degrees are designed for prospective elementary- and secondary-level teachers who are not yet licensed.

These programs create a separate path for graduate-level studies for pre-licensed educators while the current Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (M.Ed.) degree will continue to focus on in-service, licensed educators.

For additional information about graduate-level studies for prospective or current elementary or secondary educators, please contact the Department of Teaching and Learning via email or call 702-895-1540.
