In August 2021, we communicated that the S/U grading option authorized by the NSHE Board of Regents for Spring 2020 through Spring 2021 to lessen the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic would be slightly amended and extended through Fall 2021. We are sending this message to ensure that students are aware that the S/U grading option is not available for the spring 2022 semester.
We understand that disruptions and challenges from the COVID-19 pandemic are not completely resolved. However, we have now transitioned back to a majority of in-person classes, and COVID case numbers on campus and in our community continue to fall. It is an appropriate time to return to our standard grading policies to ensure the value of UNLV degrees and the future academic success of our students.
We encourage you to continue to use the support services available to you through the Academic Success Center, the Graduate College, Academic Advising, Counseling and Psychological Services, and You@UNLV. If you received any Early Alert Progress Reports that indicated your instructors were concerned about your progress, or you know you are struggling academically, it is important to communicate with your instructors and to seek support as soon as possible.
