Every day when I arrive on campus at UNLV, I think about how lucky I am to lead a university that’s truly making a difference here in Southern Nevada and beyond. 

After all, we get the chance to help students – many the first in their family to attend college – gain skills and experience they need to launch successful careers. We engage with community partners to build businesses, improve health outcomes, and educate future UNLV Rebels. And we innovate, generating and sharing knowledge that’s literally changing the world. 

It’s a privilege for me to share stories about the incredible talent and opportunities that exist at UNLV. It’s also a great feeling to turn on the news or pick up the paper and see our faculty and students making headlines for their work or sharing their expertise and adding valuable context to issues impacting our lives. 

These interactions, and there were thousands in 2022, reinforce UNLV’s incredible talent, and they positively influence our reputation nationally and globally.
