Born and raised in Las Vegas, Beau McDougall is a proud graduate of UNLV and has been serving Las Vegas as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the last decade. He is also a small business owner focused in the Real Estate industry. When he’s not selling homes or fighting fires, he dedicates his time to his alma mater. Beau has recently accepted a position on the UNLV Alumni Association Board of Directors. This will be his first year serving on the board, and he’s already hit the ground running.
The UNLV School of Medicine is currently operating the largest COVID-19 testing site in the state of Nevada. The site serves over 500 patients a day; working in congruent with 85 staff and volunteers: students, nurses, doctors, National Guard & Metro Police. With that many people, working in the summer heat, food and water are necessary and appreciated!
Beau saw this as his opportunity to bring together his resources and make a difference! Early week of May, Beau coordinated with local organizations to provide 5 days of food & beverages to be delivered to the UNLV School of Medicine testing site. He brought together various real estate organizations, wealth management companies, and even the Firefighters Union to all sponsor a day. Beau’s own mortgage company, Next Home People First, provided In-N-Out burgers and Mora’s Ice Cream for all the workers!
A front-line worker himself, Beau knows the challenges the UNLV School of Medicine workers are facing every day during this challenging time. He said, “If I can provide a warm meal, and a quick mental break for someone, I will always step up to the call.” Spoken like a true Firefighter & Rebel!
