Evelyn Garcia Morales from the inaugural National Education of Women's (NEW) Leadership Nevada in 2003 was recently promoted to Executive Director at the Fulfillment Fund Las Vegas (FFLV). The vision of the FFLV is that all students, regardless of their circumstances, will one day have the opportunity to attend college, graduate and actively participate in transforming their communities to create a better society. As an organization, FFLV supports 1,800 first-generation high school students across 3 high school campuses and provides approximately 300 college students scholarship funding and additional support to persist through college. Many students choose to stay locally in Southern Nevada, a large majority at UNLV.
Evelyn states, "I'm incredibly proud of my association with WRIN and NEWL and I credit the program for providing me tools and resources throughout my career. Arriving at this role is no exception and the NEWL alum and community have continued to support me along the way. I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to serve FFLV in this capacity."
She is also currently part of Leadership Las Vegas Class of 2020, following in the footsteps of NEW Leadership Nevada Alumnae Jennifer Lopez. The Women's Research Institute of Nevada is proud of our Changemakers living in our state that were trained and supported at NEW Leadership Nevada.
