UNLV MBA Programs in the Lee Business School value encouraging and supporting our

functions, disciplines, markets, and countries. The MBA Program offers students an
opportunity to learn from highly accomplished faculty among a diverse student body, in an
inclusive environment.

Brief Description of the Director’s MBA Advisory Board Mentoring Academy (DMABMA)
The DMABMA will consist of two key components: (1) a set of students (fellows) accepted to
the program (the academy) who will meet twice per semester with the Director of MBA
Programs to discuss progress towards their goals both in their degrees and in the program
itself, and (2) a connection with a specific mentor from the MBA Advisory Board with whom
they will meet monthly for both fall and spring semesters (either virtually or in-person). At the
conclusion of the academic year, the admitted academy of students will each be required to
submit a short report of their activities with their mentor. Student fellows of the academy will
be awarded a $250 stipend upon selection.

Applicant Requirements:
All admitted MBA students are eligible to apply for the Mentoring Academy based on their
performance. Preference will be given to applicants whose credentials reflect a high level of
scholarship and motivation both as students and professionals.

Application Procedure:
Please submit the following application materials in a single PDF document in electronic format
to Dr. Anjala S. Krishen at by August 1, 2021. Announcement of the
2021-2022 Director’s MBA Advisory Board Mentoring Academy will be made by late August.
• Two letters of recommendation, at least one of which should be from either:

  • Applicant’s current or previous supervisor (recent)
  • Faculty member from a course taken

• Resume of applicant (updated)
• Unofficial transcript from latest course performance
• Personal statement of 2-3 pages that provides reasoning for your application and also
articulates (a) your experiences to date that have led you to apply for a mentor from the
MBA Advisory Board, and (b) your vision of how MBA Programs will enhance your
professional career.
