As part of our ongoing efforts to invest in and build the capacity of our internal talent, the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost is pleased to announce a new partnership with Academic Impressions (AI), a leading higher education consulting firm that specializes in providing training, tools, and other resources to meet the professional and leadership development needs of colleges and universities.
“In today’s higher education environment, continuous learning is an expectation not only of our students but also of our faculty and staff. As an institution of higher learning, we have a responsibility to provide our faculty and staff members with ample opportunities for their professional development and personal growth,” said Interim Executive Vice President and Provost Chris Heavey. “I strongly believe that we have leaders in every department and office at UNLV, no matter what their job titles may be. I am delighted that we can facilitate the development of our internal talent through a partnership with Academic Impressions.”
Vice President for Human Resources and Chief Human Resources Officer Ericka Smith said she is excited about this partnership.
"Our new membership to AI provides an excellent complement to existing programming and resources available through the Office of Human Resources and our organizational development unit,” she said.
The university has signed on to a three-year All-Access Membership with Academic Impressions. Now all members of the UNLV community — including faculty, administrators, staff, and students — will be able to take advantage of professional development opportunities through AI’s online repository at any time.
Membership benefits include:
- Hundreds of hours of online training, both live and on-demand (with new trainings added weekly)
- Hundreds of additional tools, templates, job aids, articles, white papers, and research briefs
- A series of focused learning paths to help leaders at all levels sharpen their skills
- Unlimited participation in the daily Virtual Writing Café, providing support, accountability, and community for those wanting focused work space
- Other exclusive member resources, including direct access to the Academic Impressions research team to discuss emerging topics

Academic Impressions is the latest in a series of memberships available to members of the UNLV community.
