On March 24, 2022, the PEBP Board approved terminating the contract with the current enrollment and eligibility system, Benefitplace. Effective May 2, 2022 the Public Employees’ Benefits Program (PEBP) will transition to LifeWorks. 

Impacts to employees enrolled in PEBP's group health plan:

  • The current PEBP portal Benefitplace  will be available through April 17.  
    • A blackout period will take place April 18 -  May 1.
      • Members will not be able to access the system during this time.
  • LifeWorks will be available on May 2 
    • If members experience a qualifying life event (birth, marriage, divorce) the change can be submitted beginning on May 2
    • If members wish to make any changes to their medical plans, it must be done during the open enrollment period - May 16 - May 31 
  • Effective May 1 PEBP voluntary benefits will be managed through Corestream. 
    • PEBP voluntary benefit policies will transition automatically. No action is needed. 
    • NSHE payroll will revert back to the consolidated deduction code effective on May 10.  This means there will be one deduction for all PEBP voluntary benefits you are enrolled in.  
    • Questions regarding your PEBP voluntary policies should be directed to Corestream at 1-855-901-1100 beginning May 1. 
    • Billing questions for PEBP voluntary policies participants enrolled in from January 2022 to April 2022 should be directed to Benefitplace at 1-855-915-6381. 
  • Open Enrollment 
    • NSHE open enrollment for the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Metlife Legal plan will be held May 1 - May 31
    • PEBP open enrollment for group medical plans and PEBP voluntary products will be held May 16 - May 31
