Stress Awareness Month
April is Stress Awareness Month and a great time to assess your stress level and how it impacts your overall well-being. Stress can be a learned response to everyday life events. Therefore it is important to learn how to think and react to situations.
Mindfulness is one of the most effective ways to respond to stress because it forces you to focus on the present moment. ComPsych offers mindfulness and relaxation resources including meditation basics.
Another way to relieve stress is to incorporate physical fitness into your daily routine. Walking for at least 30 minutes is a great way to start and helps get your mind off your worries.
Having a work-life balance is extremely important as well. If you feel like there is not enough time to juggle work and family, you may need to assess your work-life balance.
Visit the ComPsych website and register using the Web ID: UNLVEAP to access these resources and more.
