Dr. William “Bill” Davenport accepted the role of interim dean for the School of Dental Medicine, stepping in for outgoing Dean Karen West, who joined the American Dental Education Association.

“It has been an amazing and sometimes challenging opportunity to see a dental school develop from the ground up over the past 17 years,” Dr. Davenport said. “We have come a long way from those temporary quarters in the motor pool building. UNLV School of Dental Medicine has become a nationally and internationally recognized dental school thanks to our dedicated administration, faculty, staff, and students. We are proud to serve the people of Nevada. Our graduates will be a living legacy for UNLV for generations to come.”
