Emily Lin, Ph.D., has been named acting dean of the UNLV Graduate College. 

Lin is a full professor in the Department of Teaching and Learning and brings a decade of administrative experience to this role, including serving as associate dean of the Graduate College most recently; department chair for the Department of Teaching and Learning in the College of Education; and director of teacher education in the College of Education. 

Dr. Lin’s research has been published in first-tier journals in her field. She served as president of the Nevada Association of Colleges for Teacher Education, has served as a co-editor for the Journal of Teacher Education (JTE), and has served as the co-editor-in-chief of U.S. News & World Report-ranked journal in teacher education, Action in Teacher Education. Dr. Lin was also a recipient of the UNLV College of Education’s Distinguished Teaching Award and Distinguished Collaboration Award. 

UNLV will conduct an internal search to select the next Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Dean of the Graduate College. The search announcement is forthcoming, and we anticipate that the individual hired for this position will begin their term on July 1, 2022.
