Dr. Boo Shan Tseng, assistant professor in the School of Life Sciences, was awarded an Early Career Grant from the 2021 Human Frontier Science Program. The project is titled, "The bacterial biofilm as a multicellular organism: from molecules to populations."
The three year, $1.2 million team grant was one of seven successful grants that went through a rigorous selection process. The grant is a collaboration with Drs. William (Mack) Durham (University of Sheffield, UK), John Whitney (McMaster University, Canada), and Julien Bergeron (King’s College London).
The Human Frontier Science Program is an international program funded by 13 countries and the European Union and was established in 1989 to encourage international collaboration on basic research topics. Awards have gone out to researchers from over 70 countries.
