UNLV’s diversity, equity and inclusion programs and initiatives continue to evolve and grow to meet the needs of our students and campus community.

UNLV continues to be one of the most diverse universities in the country.  We are committed to ensuring that every member of our Rebel family feels a strong sense of belonging because of the diverse, inclusive, and equitable campus environment we continue to build together. With new leadership in our respective divisions, we are excited to embark on a new academic year and look forward to working with all of you in continuing to carry out our university’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Recently, the Office of Student Diversity Programs (formerly Student Diversity and Social Justice) joined the Student Life unit within the Division of Student Affairs and moved their office to the Houssels House. Their office will provide students with diverse programming focused on identity. Student Diversity Programs will also work closely with the Division of Diversity Initiatives to ensure the needs of our diverse student body are well supported. If you have any questions about the Office of Student Diversity Programs, please contact Dr. Leslie Doyle, Interim Director for Student Diversity Programs at leslie.doyle@unlv.edu.

Under Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer Seval Yildirim’s leadership, the Division of Diversity Initiatives will continue to work closely with the campus community, including diverse student, faculty and staff groups, to ensure our campus continues to thrive as a cohesive Rebel community. The Division of Diversity Initiatives is the central point for concerns and inquiries about issues relating to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and social justice. Seval Yildirim maintains an open-door policy and can be reached at seval.yildirim@unlv.edu
