Two members of the American Indian Alliance: Professor Addie Rolnick (law), and Professor A.B. Wilkinson (history), will discuss the issues surrounding the Great Sioux Nation’s opposition to the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) on October 17, 2016.
Professor Rolnick’s scholarship focuses on bridging the gaps between civil rights, Critical Race Theory, federal Indian Law, and indigenous rights. Professor Wilkinson’s scholarship focuses on early US history, with special emphasis on African American history, Native American history, and critical race theory in the Americas. Rolnick and Wilkinson will examine the legal and historic background that underpins the DAPL controversy and its impact on future US policies.
