College of Education faculty and doctoral students are invited to apply for the college's  2023-24 Internal Funding Grants. Applications are due Saturday, Apr. 15.

About the Grants

The college offers three internal funding strands:

COE Research Development Grants

This grant provides seed funding to support the development or extension of a collaborative research project, including salary funding for a nine-month doctoral graduate research assistant for the 2023-2024 academic year (FY 24 period of performance, beginning July 1, 2023). Learn more and apply by Saturday, Apr. 15. Please note that all grant recipients are required to present their work at the college's annual Ed Expo, a showcase of UNLV College of Education scholarship and community engagement, which is tentatively scheduled for March 2024.

COE Equity-Practice-to-Policy Grants

This grant supports research designed to address equity in practice and to inform PK-20 education and/or mental health. Projects can investigate educational, psychological, or policy related issues for an identified community, and offer customized solutions that are affirming, empowering, and culturally-relevant. Proposals that offer opportunities for faculty and students to engage in critical or resistance methodologies or other forms of inquiry focused on social justice are desired. Up to $25,000 in funding is available for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023. Dissertation Completion Grants

Doctoral students who have have advanced to candidac are encouraged to apply for one-time funding to support their dissertation research.  This is a competitive process and the period of performance ranges from July 15, 2023 to May 15, 2024. Learn more and apply by Saturday, Apr. 15. Please note that all grant recipients are required to present their work at the college's annual Ed Expo, a showcase of UNLV College of Education scholarship and community engagement, which is tentatively scheduled for March 2024.

Grant Application Evaluations

Applications and proposals will be reviewed by a committee, which will include two faculty representatives and two
representatives from the administrative faculty. Awards will be announced no later than 
than May 6, 2023.
