Dear Colleagues:

I am excited and honored to serve as the chair of the Administrative Faculty Committee (AFC) for the 2019-2020 academic year. As a standing sub-committee of the Faculty Senate, it is the responsibility of the elected members of the Administrative Faculty Committee to represent the thoughts and ideas of administrative faculty to the Faculty Senate, UNLV administration, and the Nevada System of Higher Education Board of Regents. This is a responsibility the AFC representatives take very seriously, as the importance of shared governance remains a core value of the AFC.

As chair of the AFC, I am committed to advocating for the needs of all administrative faculty at UNLV. I want to hear from you all whenever you believe there is a need that should be addressed. We, the administrative faculty, are the heartbeat of UNLV, on the front lines of each of our offices committed to student success and access. I want you to know that I see each and everyone of you, I see the long hours you are putting in, the extra mile you are going, and the care and empathy you show to the students of this University. All of you are vital to the success of UNLV’s Path to Top Tier, and the AFC will continue to align our priorities and initiatives with Top Tier.

The Vision of the Administrative Faculty Committee is as follows:

To create a culture of inclusiveness and growth by fostering meaningful collaborations and providing opportunities for Administrative Faculty to participate in rewarding professional endeavors.

We welcome all administrative faculty to attend our monthly meetings held on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30am in the Student Union on the 2nd floor. If you are not able to attend a meeting, you can find your areas representative here. Please feel free to reach out to them or to afc@unlv.edu with any needs or questions you may have.

Thank you for your hard work, commitment, and passion for UNLV and the students that we serve every single day.

Savannah Baltera
