These services are available between August 4th and September 18th to assist instructors transition their in-person course content to remote delivery.

Monday-Friday 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

We recommend all requests for support begin with an email to accessibilityresourceteam-request@unlv.edu. This will help us ensure that all incoming requests are served in a timely manner.  Please indicate your question in an email, with any important details and any information on how we can contact you.

Open Labs are available virtually by WebEx and/or Google Meet on a daily basis, where possible. This can be a great way to ask questions of the team directly and get personalized support, no matter where you work from. Check the Office of Accessibility Resources Training Calendar to see when these are available.

Resources available for Instructors Transitioning to Teaching Online

  • Quality Matters - Emergency Remote Instruction Checklist
  • The Office of Accessibility Resources is here to provide support with the creation of online teaching materials. This includes the conversion and remediation of existing documents (PDF, Word, Canvas Pages) to accessible formats. We have provided a brief list of tutorials to get you started, but are happy to provide hands-on support tailored to your specific materials and questions. Please feel free to get in touch.
  • During this time, a 3rd-party captioning service has been made available to help keep up with the high need for online content
    • Expect a minimum 4-business day turnaround on any request.
    • The first request must be made to the Office of Accessibility Resources by email followed up by a telephone call to confirm details and develop an action plan. This helps us keep up with all incoming requests.
    • If you already received video captioning support from the Office of Online Education, they are also available for captioning support
  • Document remediation is available.
    • The first request must be made by email followed up by a telephone call to confirm details and develop an action plan.
    • Priority will be given to content to be delivered within the week, turnaround will be determined as a part of your action plan.
