Think Your Child Has ADHD? UNLV Dean Offers Expert Advice
UNLV pediatric psychologist (and now Dean of the School of Allied Health) Ronald Brown has suggestions for parents concerned that their child might have attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). His insights, also published in U.S. News and World Reports, come from decades of working with families navigating ADHD diagnoses. According to Brown, the key to determining if a child has the disorder is the consistent demonstration of at least six specific traits for a minimum of six months both at home and in school that are causing a child to fall behind normal development for his or her age.
