A master’s thesis written by recent engineering grad Padmanabhan ‘Pad’ Krishnaswamy was named the best in the nation by the American Water Works Association. Pad’s thesis explored the rise of disinfection byproducts in wastewater as a result of more cleaning supply use during the pandemic. The work heightened awareness of these byproducts and can help inform efforts by water managers to reduce them during wastewater treatment.
