UNLV's College of Education has been committed to training teachers for Nevada's classrooms since its founding. But the Nevada Institute for Teaching and Educator Preparation takes that commitment even further. The institute, funded by the Nevada Legislature, prepares future Silver State teachers to elevate educational outcomes for K-12 students by engaging local communities, conducting next generation educational research, and tackling complex topics like youth homelessness. It’s a smart idea that’s about to pay off as the first cohort graduates this spring.
