Top astronomers from around the world have been working together to better understand now new planets are born. The team includes UNLV scientists who led a study that has discovered that areas of the Milky Way have the potential to house several new planets undetectable by other planetary searching means. UNLV researchers contributed to all nine articles in a special focus issue of Astrophysical Journal Letters. Their studies increase our understanding of how planets are born.
