A group of UNLV students attracted enough interest to open a local chapter of Scientista, a national organization that encourages women to pursue and advance in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. Although only in existence for a little more than a year, the group has hosted several lectures and networking and mentoring events. With its partners, the Clark County School District, the College of Engineering, and the UNLV Society of Women Engineers, the chapter also brought 95 West Prep students to campus for #GirlsInSTEM Day.
