First, a UNLV film script “The Big Wish” was selected as one of five finalists out 800 submissions, for the Coca-Cola/Regal Cinema’s contest. As one of the five finalist schools, along with film powerhouses NYU, UCLA, the Savannah School of Art and Design, and The New School, UNLV was given $15,000 to shoot a 30-second branded spot to appear in Regal theaters. That was the first wish come true. Then UNLV’s social media campaign vied for the top spot in the social media campaign component of the competition. UNLV's The Big Wish came out on top! Another wish come true, as the expertise of UNLV film students has been recognized in such a prestigious national competition.
