About the Debate

Since being named the site of the final 2016 Presidential Debate, UNLV has been eagerly preparing for the historic event. From debate-related courses and lectures to hands-on learning opportunities for students of all ages, UNLV is boldly marking its moment in time as we countdown to the debate.

The Debate Format

The nonpartisan, nonprofit Commission on Presidential Debates has selected the format for the 90-minute debate, which is designed to facilitate in-depth discussion of the leading issues facing the nation. The debate moderator will be Chris Wallace, anchor, Fox News Sunday.

Tickets

The Commission on Presidential Debates manages all aspects of the debate, including number of attendees and ticket allocation. Those details have not yet been determined, but ticket availability for the event will be very limited. For tickets allocated to UNLV, a priority is to ensure that current full-time students are able to attend the debate. Tickets will not be generally be available to the public through the university.
