About Our Office

The University Communications office promotes and strengthens UNLV's image and reputation by developing and implementing strategic communications plans. The University Communications office — in collaboration with other units in the Division of University Advancement — builds mutually beneficial relationships with constituents vital to the university's long-term success and assists individual units in achieving their mission and public relations' objectives.

To improve our service to the campus community, we've created this website as a reference of the services we provide. It also contains an overview of our mission, our organizational structure, and contact information.

Our Mission

  1. To help improve the university's image and reputation with key stakeholders via paid advertising, research, and communication products
  2. To help the colleges and university achieve their recruitment and retention objectives via communication planning, products, and services
  3. To provide the university with communications counsel and expertise
  4. To increase employee awareness and understanding of the university's goals, objectives, initiatives, and policies

Our Organizational Structure

To achieve our mission, the University Communications office has been divided into several units (see org. chart):

  • Marketing & Advertising
    Manages marketing and advertising programs
     
  • Employee Relations
    Provides counsel and support on employee communication initiatives, strategies, and policies
     
  • Web Communications
    Develops and maintains university websites
     
  • Photo Services
    Serves the university's photography needs
     
  • Publications
    Produces UNLV's major print materials
