Mt. Charleston Day Hike - $25

There is real green life near Las Vegas after all! Take this opportunity to connect with this city in a way that you may not have thought possible. At a higher elevation and away from all the heat of the valley you will be able to inhale the sweet aromas of nature. The day will be spent hiking along paths carved through the trees. Kayaking on Lake Mead - $65

September 20

Come join us on an unlikely adventure in the desert: kayaking! You thought that there was no place to enjoy such an activity in Las Vegas? Well, Lake Mead is only a short trip away. You’ll be surrounded by refreshing waters and desert splendor while navigating in a graceful kayak. Spend a day away from the busy city and relax on the lake, take in some fresh air, and have a peaceful lunch on the sandy beach. No experience? No problem! Instruction and equipment will be provided.

Price includes: Trip leaders, boat rental, park entrance, and transportation.

Black Canyon Canoe

September 26-28

Imagine the thrill of canoeing the beautiful Colorado River in confidence, comfort and safety. Take in the amazing canyon cliffs of Black Canyon as UNLV Outdoor Adventure trip leaders guide you just south of the Hoover Dam. During the adventure, various stops at side canyons will be made for you to explore. Learn the essentials of canoe paddling as well as wilderness camping techniques while traveling to Arizona Hot Springs and Gold Strike. The trip will require participants to canoe an average of 8 miles per day with half of those miles going up-river. Grab a paddle, let’s GO!

Mountain Biking in Red Rock Canyon - $75

Come ride with us and enjoy the beautiful views of Red Rock Canyon! Enjoy a scenic and exciting bike tour of beautiful Red Rock Canyon. This mountain bike adventure will let you ride along one of the most picturesque single-track trails in the West coast. Get away from the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas and see wild plants and cactus that one can only see in gorgeous Southern Nevada. If you’re lucky, you may see wild mustangs or burros roaming in the desert! Whether you are a beginner or advanced rider, this trip will be one to remember!

Price includes: Transportation, mountain bike rental, protective equipment, experienced mountain biking guides, and trip leaders.

Grand Canyon Campout - $120

October 10-12

Come explore one of the natural wonders of the world, the Grand Canyon. If you’ve never been it’s a must see. If you’ve already visited the Grand Canyon come explore this breathtaking canyon leisurely with Outdoor Adventures. We will take a day hike to Toroweep Point which has striking views of a 3,000ft canyon drop down to the Colorado River. This remote location is a great place for a relaxing weekend getaway. Come escape to one of the most beautiful and inspiring natural wonders in the world on a stress-free retreat.

Join us for a family friendly adventure to Mt. Charleston. This is an opportunity to bring your whole family along to explore the some beautiful local landscape, learn about the natural flora and fauna, release some energy, and enjoy meeting other families within the UNLV community. Gold Strike Hot Springs & Scramble - $25

October 25

Pre trip meeting and sign up deadline: October 22 at 2:00 pm or 7:00 pm

Enjoy the best of both worlds as you climb and scramble thru rocky terrain to arrive at an oasis of hot springs. This hike allows you to challenge yourself with some stretches of rock faces that will require you to depend on a rope to get up and down. The hike will get you in shape! The hot springs consists of various pools with different intensities of heat. Bring a camera because you do not want to forget a thing.

Halloween Night Hike - $25

October 31st

How brave are you? Skip the trick-or-treating this year and go on a night hike through the haunted tunnels around Lake Mead. Bring your scariest ghost stories and we’ll bring the candy!

Zion National Park Campout & Exploration - $80

November 8-9

We are skipping town and inviting you to experience this natural treasure with us! You don’t have any excuses this time. This national park will leave you speechless. The gorgeous day hikes, beautiful camping grounds, and the emerald water are a must-see. Look up, down, sideways or upside down for a vision of life that will literally take your breath away. Rock Climbing in Red Rocks

November 15

Are you afraid of heights? This trip is the best way to conquer your fear. This is the perfect trip for you to get outside and enjoy the great red rock canyons only 30 minutes from campus. We will be experiencing some of the best sand stone climbing this side of the Mississippi. If you have never climbed before this then is the perfect opportunity to try. We will be teaming up with some of the most professional guides in the city to provide you, the adventure seeker, with the ultimate action packed, cliff scaling, gravity defying, day of you entire existence. Women’s Retreat to Valley of Fire - $25

This is an opportunity for women from all walks of life, and all levels of experience to enjoy community with other women, acquire some hiking skills, and discover the ancient gem of the Valley of Fire. Arizona Hot Springs Day Hike - $25

November 22

Pre trip meeting and sign up deadline: November 19 at 2:00 pm or 7:00 pm

Come join us on a tranquil, six-mile round trip hike to Arizona Hot springs. Take in some great sights along the Colorado River, and unwind in the relaxing waters of the hot springs. The pools can range from 85 to 120 degrees; take your pick and forget about school for a bit. Does life get any better? We doubt it.
