The evolution of student life at UNLV.

We’re building a brand new Student Union and Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

Since 1957, the university has grown to more than 28,000 students. What started as one building in the middle of the desert is now over 90 facilities on a thriving 337-acre campus. We’re only going to get bigger and stronger and the Donald C. Moyer Student Union (MSU) and Paul B.   McDermott Physical Education (MPE) Complex are too small and out-dated to meet the needs of today's UNLV’s students. So we’re building a brand new Student Union and Student Recreation and Wellness Center.

News and Events

Student Union Phase II Now Open

Phase II of the new Student Union opened July 23. Come check the new Jamba Juice, C-store, and lounges. Mark your calendars for Sept. 6, at 3.p.m. for the dedication ceremony in the new ballroom.

Changes at McDermott Physical Education Complex (MPE)

MPE will continue to be open for open recreation until Aug. 3, 2007. All MPE memberships and locker rentals will be extended until this date.

Effective Monday, August 6,2007, the MPE will be used exclusively for academic classes and athletic team purposes. Campus Recreation Services will move into the new Student Recreation and Wellness Center. There will be a short time between the closing of the MPE and the opening of the new Student Recreation Center when individual workouts will not be available on campus. We regret any inconvenience this might cause.
