Special events are usually larger, one-time events where the participation and spectators would be interested in staying around for the duration of the event. This may also include a new event that may be only offered upon request.
Special Events are held on and off campus and include both local and regional competition. Oozeball, NCCS Flag Football, and the World Cup Soccer Tournament are some favorites.
To request a special event, contact the Program Coordinator for Intramural Sports, Special Events, and Sport Clubs, Steven Kinsey, 702-774-7128.
Volleyball in the mud! Oozeball is a fall tradition at UNLV. This year is the 26th Annual Oozeball Tournament and will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016. Teams compete in a day-long event that includes guaranteed pool play and a single-elimination bracket. Participants will receive a t-shirt and other free giveaways just for participating! Lunch, a DJ, refreshments, and other fun activities are all in the works for this year’s event. Pictures and video from previous years can be found on our Facebook and Instagram pages. The tournament is a co-ed event that requires a minimum of 6 players: 3 men and 3 women. You can register at the SRWC front desk beginning August 29, 2016.
The recreational and competitive events offered by the Intramurals Sports program are available to students, staff and faculty at UNLV. Not all events are the same, and not all events are for every person. Learn more about each event below.
