Special Events

Special events are usually larger, one-time events where the participation and spectators would be interested in staying around for the duration of the event. This may also include a new event that may be only offered upon request (i.e. Big Pink Volleyball).

Special intramurals and recreation events are held on and off campus, some competing with other schools locally or regionally. Oozeball, Battleship, NCCS Flag Football, Desert Cup and Summer Golf are some favorites.

To request a special event, contact the Program Coordinator for Intramural Sports, Special Events and Sport Clubs, Will Brownell, 702-774-7128.

Volleyball in the mud! Oozeball is a fall tradition at UNLV. Oct. 4, 2013 was the 23rd Annual Oozeball Tournament. Teams compete in a day-long event that includes open pool play and single-game elimination. Participants receive t-shirt for playing. Lunch, DJ, refreshments, inflatable slides and twister were all part of this year’s event. Pictures and videos can be found on our YouTube and Facebook pages.

The recreational and competitive events offered by the Intramurals Sports program are available to students, staff and faculty at UNLV. Not all events are the same, and not all events are for every person. Review our policies and learn more about each below.
