Fitness Assessments

Knowledge is a powerful motivational tool to enable you to set goals, design an effective lifestyle plan for overall wellness and monitor your progress. At the Rebel Wellness Zone, trained staff will lead you through an assessment and educate you on the meaning of your results.

Rebel Fitness Assessment

Our Fitness Assessment provides you with an idea of what’s going on with your body. The Assessment includes measures of cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and endurance, flexibility and body composition. Trained staff will review the results with you and provide referrals to other services if desired.

This Assessment is conducted in the Rebel Wellness Zone (RWZ). Students and SRWC members are eligible for one free Assessment each semester. Call 702-895-4400 or stop by the RWZ to schedule an appointment Cancellations/Reschedules must be made at least 24 hours in advance.

To prepare for the Assessment and get the most accurate results:

  1. Do not eat or drink for 4 hours (small amounts of water is ok);
  2. Avoid moderate or vigorous physical activity for 12 hours;
  3. Do not use alcohol or nicotine (including Hookah) for 48 hours;
  4. Avoid diuretic agents, including caffeine, unless prescribed to you by a physician.

Each additional assessment per semester $10
Single measure only (cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility) $5 each
Body Composition Only $5

Body Composition Screenings

A body composition analysis will help you to better understand your muscle-to-fat ratio. This will be estimated using: skinfold caliper measurement, bio-electrical impedance analysis (Tanita®), body mass index evaluation and waist-to-hip circumference measurement. This is part of the Rebel Fitness Assessment and is conducted in the Rebel Wellness Zone. You may also schedule a single analysis for a fee.

Metabolic Testing

Are you interested in learning the calories needed to reduce or maintain your weight? a metabolic assessment can be conducted via our REE/VUE indirect calorimeter. Our Registered Dietitian conducts the assessment and reviews results with you.

The cost $30 for students who have paid the Student Health Fee and SRWC Members, Community Members $40. Appointments must be scheduled in advance and are subject to availability. To schedule an appointment call 702-895-4377.
