Fitness Assessments

Rebel Wellness Assessment

  • The Fitness Assessment measures flexibility by using the sit and reach method. Aerobic fitness will be assessed using a YMCA step test. The resulting aerobic fitness values will be somewhat less accurate than if a maximal exercise stress test is performed. Muscular strength and endurance will be measured using the YMCA half sit-up test, and bench-press strength test. Body composition will be estimated using: 3-site skinfold caliper measurement, bio-electrical impedance analysis, Body Mass Index, and waist-to-hip circumference measurement.

Understanding these parameters is a key component to enable one to design an effective lifestyle plan for overall wellness. Knowledge is a powerful motivational tool to enable people to set goals and track progress towards one's overall wellness. At the Rebel Wellness Zone, qualified staff will lead you through the assessment protocols and educate you on the meaning of your results

Max Fitness Testing Assessment

In addition to the services provided in the Wellness Assessment, the Max Fitness Testing assessment will also include the following gold standard evaluations; The Hydrostatic Weighing is the gold standard for body composition analysis. This is done by underwater weighing to determine the water displacement. The BodPod is one of the newest and most accurate methods for determining body composition analysis. This is done by air displacement in a small sealed “room”. The Max VO2 Test is the best method to determine cardiorespiratory endurance. With this method, measurements take place of direct oxygen uptake using a metabolic cart while achieving maximum effort. Individual Cost: The Ree-vue Indirect Calorimetry is a method of determining resting metabolic rate using air expiration.

Body Composition Screenings

Learn your muscle-to-fat-ratio with a body composition screening using bioelectrical impedance technology – Tanita®. Additional screenings via hydrostatic weighing and the Bod Pod® may also be scheduled via the RWZ. To make an appointment, contact us at 895-4400. Special fees apply.
