What makes a great story?
- Drama — A good feature story has compelling human-interest angles and can be told with emotion, irony, conflict, adversity, or humor. So don't just tells us about the accomplishments of a person or program; tell us a memorable anecdote.
- Impact — How is the person or program solving our most vexing problems, bettering our community, changing lives, or shaping our future? Tell us more than, "She's a dedicated teacher."
- Timeliness — Is there something that makes this story notable right now?
- Broad appeal — Will it appeal to a wide range of UNLV's stakeholders (alumni, students, donors, the community in general)?
In particular, we’re looking for individuals in one or more of the following categories:

First-Generation Students
Students or graduates who illustrate the importance of access to higher education and the power it can have on improving the lives of Nevada’s families.

Scholarship Recipients
Students or graduates who, without the scholarship, would not have gone to college. Tell us what makes them especially unique — how they overcame adversity or have been able to give back to their community as a result of the support they received.
