Haas TL-2

This toolroom lathe combines the functionality and simplicity of a manual lathe with the power and flexibility of the easy-to-use Haas CNC system. The TL-2 operates in four modes that provide extremely accurate digital read-out (DRO) of position when using the manual handwheels and electronic jog handle. With standard handwheels and high-accuracy DRO, parts can be cut out in minutes. With the Haas Intuitive Programming System, the machine transitions quickly and easily into automatic modes and full CNC.

Haas TM-2

This CNC Toolroom Mill has liberal travels of 40" x 16" x 16" and there is plenty of room for workholding multiple vises and/or chucks, 5C indexers, and small rotaries on the large table. The unenclosed design and standard T-slots simplify clamping of oversized and odd-shaped parts. Brushless servomotors on all axes provide precise positioning, and a one-piece cast-iron base/column damps vibration and gives rigidity for heavy cuts. The TM-2 features a 4000-rpm, 7.5 hp (5.6 kW) vector drive spindle that uses standard 40-taper tooling.

Haas VF-3

This vertical machining center has 40" x 20" x 25" travels and is built utilizing vibration-damping cast-iron components. It is a rugged, medium-sized vertical machining center that yields full reliability and accuracy in a moderately sized machine.

Fabrication

MIG Welder

MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding is the process of using direct current electricity and a wire- fed system to melt and join a wide range of metals of different thicknesses together.

This air plasma cutter can sever 1.75-in. steel and has a rated cutting capacity of 1.25”. The Spectrum Model 1251 cuts 3/4-in. steel at 25 in/min, 5/8-in. steel at 40 in/min and 1/4-in. steel at almost 140 in/min. It also cuts stainless, aluminum, copper, and any metal that conducts electricity. The plasma cutting process improves productivity and cut quality.

In TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, a tungsten electrode heats the metal being welded and gas (most commonly Argon) protects the weld puddle from airborne contaminants. TIG welding produces clean, precise welds on any metal.

Manual Machining

Bridgeport Mill

The Series One Knee Mill fulfills the industry’s need for an accurate, reliable, and versatile mill. The machine holds the workpiece stationary while penetrating the material and moving the workpiece radially against the rotating milling cutter, which cuts on its sides as well as its tip. Workpiece and cutter movement are precisely controlled to less than 0.001 in (0.025 mm), usually by means of precision ground slides and leadscrews or analogous technology.

Clausing-Colchester Lathe

This machining tool spins a block of material up to 15” x 50” to perform various operations, such as cutting, sanding, knurling, drilling, or deformation with tools that are applied to the workpiece to create an object that has symmetry about an axis of rotation.

Drill Presses

Free-standing tool fitted with a rotating cutting tool, usually a drill bit, used for drilling holes in various materials.

Lagun Lathe

The ATV-618-ET lathe spins a block of material up to 9 inches to perform various operations, such as cutting, sanding, knurling, drilling, or deformation with tools that are applied to the workpiece to create an object that has symmetry about an axis of rotation.

Surface Grinder

This Okamoto ACC 12.24DX surface grinder produces a smooth finish on flat surfaces. It is a widely used abrasive machining process in which a spinning wheel covered in rough particles (grinding wheel) cuts chips of metallic or non metallic substance from a workpiece, making the face of it flat or smooth.

Cylinder Grinder

This Okamoto OGM 250 cylinder grinder has two axles for left/right table feed and forward/back grindstone feed controlled by proprietarily developed NC (numerically controlled) equipment; dress cycle inclusive of complete automatic cycling with free interrupted dress, edge dress, manual grinding mode, and teaching function; also has four processing mode types of plunge cut, traverse cut, shift plunge cut, and manual traverse respectively

Vertical Bandsaw

This Dake Johnson V-24 bandsaw cuts intermediate-size workpieces, with an adjustable worktable as well as an auxiliary worktable useful for handling larger workpieces. The worktable is 26” by 26” and can cut material up to 13” tall. Its adjustable blade feed pressure supplies up to 60 lbs. of cutting pressure and is able to make compound angle cuts.

Horizontal Bandsaw

This manual Wellsaw Model 1016 has a one-inch blade that cuts 10-½” rounds, 10” x 16” rectangles, and 10”x 9” 45 degree wedges while producing fast and straight cuts.

Other

Flow Water Jet

This Flow Water Jet IFB 4x4 has a 4-foot by 4-foot cutting table and utilizes high pressure water and abrasives to cut virtually any material. This may include but is not limited to plastic, rubber, stainless steel, granite, etc. Cutting thicknesses may vary depending on material type, though the Water Jet is capable of cutting solid steel up to two inches thick.

3D Rapid Prototyper

The Stratasys FDM 400 MC can take an .STL file and turn it into a usable plastic part. It is capable of building a part that is 16”x15”x14”. The types of plastic it uses ranges from regular ABS to medical grade PC-ISO, which can be used in medical equipment and/or fixtures. Ultem, another material used by this machine, is high-heat and chemical-resistant, and is often used in the aerospace industry.
