Pre-Professional Fast-Track Programs

UNLV collaborates with other academic institutions to offer fast-track programs that are designed to consolidate the undergraduate and graduate school experiences of students who qualify for these rigorous academic programs.

Touro University in Henderson, Nev., collaborates with UNLV on three programs, and the UNLV Dental School also offers a similar program. Read some of the program highlights below, and then visit the Touro University and UNLV Dental School websites for further information.

Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine

The accelerated program for earning the baccalaureate and medical degrees requires students to:

  • Complete three years of required coursework and service experience
  • Take the MCAT following completion of the sophomore year
  • Apply to medical school during junior year
  • Matriculate following completion of junior year
  • Reduce time required to earn the undergraduate and medical degrees from eight years to seven
  • Maintain a 3.5 science and cumulative gpa.
  • Achieve a score of 24 or higher on the MCAT with no subset scores lower than eight

Physician Assistant

The accelerated program for earning the baccalaureate and physician assistant degrees requires students to:

  • Complete three years of required coursework and service experience
  • Apply to the Physician Assistant Studies Program following completion of the sophomore year
  • Matriculate following completion of the junior year
  • Reduce time required to earn the undergraduate and professional degrees from six years to five
  • Maintain a 3.25 science and cumulative gpa.

Occupational Therapy

The accelerated program for earning the baccalaureate and occupational therapy degrees requires students to:

  • Complete three years of required coursework and service experience
  • Take the GRE following completion of the sophomore year
  • Apply to the masters in Occupational Therapy Program during the junior year
  • Matriculate following completion of the junior year
  • Reduces time to earn the undergraduate and professional degrees from six years to five
  • Maintain a 3.25 cumulative and science gpa.

UNLV Dental School

The accelerated program for earning the baccalaureate and DMD degrees requires students to:

  • Complete three years of required coursework and service experience
  • Take the DAT following completion of the sophomore year
  • Apply to dental school during the junior year
  • Matriculate following completion of the junior year
  • Reduce time required to earn the undergraduate and professional degrees from eight years to seven
  • Maintain a 3.4 science and cumulative gpa.
  • Achieve a core of 18 or higher on the DAT with no subset scores lower than 15
