Signature Authorization

Very few individuals on campus have authority to sign a contract.  The University has developed a signature authority approval process for the campus.  For assistance with this process, please contact your department’s designated Purchasing Representative.

More than $1 Million, OR more than 5 years

  1. Recommended: UNLV Dean/Director
  2. Recommended: UNLV Vice President, Director of Athletics
  3. Recommended: (1) UNLV Senior Vice President for Finance and Business, and/or (2) UNLV Executive Vice President and Provost
  4. Approved as to Legal Form: UNLV General Counsel
  5. Recommended: UNLV President
  6. Approved: NSHE Chancellor

$400,001 and up to $1 Million, OR over 4 years and up to 5 years

  1. Recommended: UNLV Dean/Director
  2. Recommended: UNLV Vice President, Director of Athletics
  3. Recommended: (1) UNLV Senior Vice President for Finance and Business, and/or (2) UNLV Executive Vice President and Provost
  4. Approved as to Legal Form: UNLV General Counsel
  5. Approved: UNLV President

Between $50,001 and $400,000, AND up to 4 years

  1. Recommended: UNLV Dean/Director
  2. Recommended: UNLV Vice President, Director of Athletics
  3. Approved: (1) UNLV Senior Vice President for Finance and Business, and/or (2) UNLV Executive Vice President and Provost
  4. UNLV Office of General Counsel attorney initials

$50,000 and below, AND up to 4 years

  1. Recommended: UNLV Dean/Director
  2. Approved: UNLV Vice President, Director of Athletics
  3. Approved: Director of Purchasing
  4. UNLV Office of General Counsel attorney initials
