Program Admissions Requirements

If you have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.50 and have completed nine credits of the department's prerequisite courses, you are encouraged to apply to our Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration program. Prerequisite courses to be taken before applying for admission include:

  • MATH 124 or higher
  • PSY 101, SOC 101, or ECON 102
  • HCA 175 or HCA 201

A 2.5 GPA is required to remain in and graduate from the HCA program.

How to Apply to Our Program

  1. If you are not yet a UNLV student, visit UNLV Admissions and select the appropriate student status within the "Be A Rebel" section to get started. In your application, select your "Major Choice" as "Undergrad Exploring Majors" or "Healthcare Admin PRE."
  2. Once you are an admitted UNLV student, complete our "Program Admissions Requirements" as listed above. These are usually completed within the sophomore year.
    Note: To graduate from the program, you must be admitted into the major before you have 30 credits remaining.
  3. See your advisor for admittance into the program. Once approved, your status will be reflected within MyUNLV.

  • Summer: Apr. 30
