Awards & Recognition
UNLV and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents recognize the achievements of faculty in teaching, research/creative activity, and service with a number of awards each year; as well as those achievements of undergraduate and graduate advisors and undergraduate and graduate scholars.
In addition, many academic colleges/schools have their own awards to honor faculty, staff, and/or student achievements. Please watch for other award opportunity announcements.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty, Policy and Research is responsible for the following awards. Below please find a "Call for Nominations" memorandum for each of the following awards; each memorandum includes the criteria, deadlines, and general information. Some awards require a specific application form and/or checklist; please find those links directly beneath the award call.
Completed application materials should be delivered to the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty, Policy and Research (FDH 708) or sent via campus mail to mail code 1014. Please direct any questions to Gloria Ealy at 895-3496.
The following award nominations, including the completed application packet, are invited through 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2012.
- UNLV Outstanding Department Chair/School Director Award
- UNLV Distinguished Professor Award
- UNLV Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award and Nevada Regents' Teaching Award
The following awards have spring deadlines, which will be posted at the start of the spring semester.
- UNLV Spanos Distinguished Teaching Award
By invitation only (due in Spring) - UNLV Outstanding Teaching by Part-Time Faculty
- Applications due no later than 5 p.m., February 1, 2013.
The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs is responsible for the following awards. Application materials for these awards may be submitted to that office (FDH 705 or 706 or via campus mail to mail code 1099) by Monday, October 8, 2012 at 5:00pm.
