Academic Leadership Development Seminars (ALDS)

Note: The Academic Leadership Development Seminars have been discontinued and replaced with the UNLV Leadership Forum.

In each academic unit, the academic leadership team (associate deans, assistant deans, department chairs and school directors) is critical to UNLV's academic success for our students, our faculty, and our community. The priorities and initiatives of the Provost's office depend upon you, our academic leadership, being well prepared, well informed and confident in your abilities to lead. The Provost's office is therefore committed to your continued professional development as an administrator and academic leader at UNLV.

Based on input from chairs and deans, we are enhancing the support to academic leadership, both new and on-going chairs, directors and associate deans, for the coming year. Starting on June 20, we will be offering a coordinated professional development and leadership program, Administrative Leadership Development Seminars (ALDS). This program aims not only to inform, enrich, and support your performance of administrative tasks and business processes, but also to support your continued development as a campus leader.

ALDS will be held year round with summer meetings scheduled weekly on Thursdays beginning on June 20th from 9-10:30 a.m. and every other Wednesday during the fall and spring semester from 1-2:30 p.m. The final Wednesday of every month, the seminar will be preceded by a luncheon from 11:30-1 p.m. that will be devoted to community and relationship building among chairs and associate deans.
