FTP filesFTP (File Transfer Protocol)FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is the method for uploading files to a web server. For example, a web site (or components of) have been created on the local server or PC and are ready for publishing, then FTP is used to send it to the server so that the web site can be viewed on the World Wide Web. When working on a PC a good program to use is CuteFTP. This is a shareware program and can be downloaded from www.tucows.com. Typed into the search "CuteFTP" and download to c:/program files. Configuring the Site ManagerSite Manager is the location, which stores the information about where your files are going to (the server name) where you keep the local files, your user name and password. Once this is completed, you will not have to reenter the information again.
