Using Outlook for POP Email Accounts

Configuring Outlook to receive Pine Accts

Once you have entered your name and email address, click on the Mail Server category in the list on the left. Here, you will need to enter your mail sever (POP3) user name, your outgoing mail server, and your incoming mail server in the spaces provided, as shown in the example below. You'll also need to make sure that POP3 is selected as the Mail Server Type. With POP3, your messages are downloaded from the server to your local hard drive. If you want to leave your messages on the server after retrieval-e.g., so that you can access these messages from another location-be sure to place a checkmark in the appropriate box. (If you do not place a checkmark in this box, your messages will automatically be removed from the server after they are downloaded.)

After you have followed the steps above, click OK in the Preferences dialog box. You can access your mail by choosing Communicator > Messenger Mailbox (or Messenger Inbox) from the menu bar.
