CCSD Resources - Main PageOne of the joint ventures for Project THREAD and CCSD is to create additional opportunities for staff development that focus on integrating technology in the classroom. This has been accomplished by creating a unique program for cooperating teachers which differs slightly from the traditional support program CCSD offers all cooperating teachers. All cooperating teachers in CCSD are asked to attend a series of four half-day workshops to provide information and support in their work with student teachers. These half-day workshops are spread over the course of the semester and are conducted by teachers on special assignment (TOSAs) from Karyn Wright's office. They provide information on the technical and mentoring aspects of working with student teachers. They also provide guidance on completing the forms and meeting the deadlines for the student teaching process. With the Project THREAD program, an additional half-day is added to each of the workshops resulting in four full-day workshops for cooperating teachers. In the additional half-day, opportunities are provided for hands-on technology instruction with a focus of integrating technology in curriculum activities. The purpose of the additional development is to guide cooperating teachers in technology exploration to enhance their skills, and provide support to their student teachers with the integration of technology in their teaching curriculum.
