What's On

Haleh Esfandiari, the Director of the Middle East Program at the Woodrow Wilson Center, is a well known Middle Eastern scholar and Iran specialist.  She was detained in Iran in 2007 for eight months, spending over three months in solitary confinement in Tehran’s Evin Prison.  Based on this experience Dr. Esfandiari will discuss the seemingly intractable problems between Iran and the United States, possible solutions, and future relations in light of recent and upcoming elections in both countries.

“Iran-U.S. Relations: A View from Prison” is part of the Peace in the Desert Lecture Series presented by the Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law.
