Training Programs:

Is this program right for you?

  • Do you work with individuals from other cultures/countries?
  • Do you conduct or will you be conducting business abroad?
  • Do international clients come to Las Vegas to conduct business with you?
  • When working with individuals from other cultures, do you…
    • find it difficult to communicate, even when they speak English or you speak their language?
    • get frustrated with conflicts in timing, scheduling, and punctuality?
    • get frustrated at varying approaches to getting work done?
    • find it difficult to finalize a sale or contract, even after you thought negotiations were complete?

If yes to any of the above, then we can help.

Our training programs are based on a practical and fundamental approach to cross-cultural communication. Our goal is to leave you with the general understanding of why and how a culture functions the way it does and how that culture communicates. We deal with general fundamentals as well as specific country profiles.

How it works...

We come to you. After initial contact, we set up a meeting at your convenience to assess your business or organization's cultural training needs. We offer training to staff and management and can work with human resource departments, when applicable. The length of any training program is variable based on your needs and the amount of time you have.

Since this program is grant funded, it is offered free of charge.

Our training programs include the following topics:

Cultural Awareness/Sensitivity Training:

Awareness begets sensitivity. Merely being aware of how different cultures operate can increase productivity. Our training increases awareness of not only the do’s and don’ts (or taboos) when working with individuals from another culture, but also of fundamental information that will help you understand that culture better.

Cross-Cultural Communication Training:

"Communication" is a subjective word. Language is merely the tip of the iceberg. What you say is indeed important, but what do not say can be just as important. Communication is as verbal as it is non-verbal. Our training will cover the many facets of communication across cultures.

Coping with Culture Shock:

Culture shock is experienced when an individual leaves their home country to visit another country—whether the individual is there to conduct business or not—for any amount of time. Reverse culture shock occurs when an individual spends an extended amount of time abroad and returns to their home country. Both are nearly impossible to avoid, but understanding them makes for a much easier transition.

Training Benefits:

Research reveals that there are several benefits associated with diversity training, which can-

  • improve client relations
  • boost employee retention, thereby decreasing recruitment and training costs
  • decrease complaints and litigation spending
  • increase creativity and productivity
  • raise employee and customer loyalty
  • enhance problem solving
  • encourage professional growth
  • reduce conflict
  • allow for more effective and efficient communication
  • improve morale
  • facilitate movement into emerging markets

Statistics show that Southern Nevada is an increasingly diverse region in a world with rapidly expanding global markets. Our training is designed to enhance an organization's success in such a dynamic location.
